How to make 2011 the year of all years!
Tell a Friend
Do you want to make 2011 the best year you have ever had?
Are you disappointment about your level of achievement in 2010 and further more are you like many who make New Year resolutions only to break them within the first few weeks?
As a person development strategist and an NLP trainer I interact with many people from all walks of life and I come across a lot of people who would answer yes to all those 3 questions.
Now I don’t know about you but I find it incredible just how quickly 2010 has flown.
My question to you is “have you taken the time to reflect on your achievements in 2010? Did you reflect honestly and did you assess if you could have achieved more than you achieved. And now more importantly, “have you made a decision that 2011 will be a much bigger and better year for you? And if you have you set some goals and action plan?
Now I can tell you one thing for certain whether you take the time to set some goals or not, 2011 will come and go and you may find that at the end of 2011 you will be no better off than you are now and further more you will say to yourself where has time gone.
I encourage you to take the time now to set some goals for 2011. You may be surprised when I tell you that with some goal setting and planning of action steps 2011 can be one of the best years you have ever had.
Goal setting is perhaps the most vital achievement skill of all. If any individual – even a person who has not experienced a high level of achievement before – becomes a goal setter and writes, thinks and talks about his goals on an ongoing basis, their level of performance and achievements dramatically improve, almost immediately.
When you set a goal, you develop direction, you develop focused and channeled energy and you accomplish more in a shorter time than you previously accomplished in years.
The question may be asked “Why then do so few people set goals?” And to that question there are many answers including:
- The first conclusion is that the majority of people don’t understand the importance of goals.
- The second reason is that people don’t set goals because they don’t know how.
- The third reason is the fear of rejection; they may have found that every time they did set a goal, somebody told them they couldn’t achieve it.
- The fourth reason people don’t set goals is that they are afraid that they may fail.
